Obituary of Frances Plimack
1911 – 2016
Frances Plimack died on May 18, 2016 at the Schnurmacher Nursing Home in White Plains, NY. She was 105. Frances Plimack was born on January 10, 1911 in Manhattan and grew up in Vineland, NJ. She spent her teenage and young adult years in Queens and New York City until she married Max Epstein. She lived for two decades in Philadelphia, PA and was president of the Sisterhood of Temple Shalom in Oxford Circle. She then moved to Brooklyn, NY with her daughter Doris. A secretary for several Wall Street law firms, Frances Plimack loved to climb trees, ride horses, and travel to many countries.
The oldest daughter of Jennie and Harris Plimack, she was the last of the seven siblings to survive. Her brothers were Irving Plimack, Alfred Plimack, and Maurice Plimack; sisters were Ruth Plimack Pervin, Reba Plimack Cohen, and Nataline Plimack Funk Aron. She is survived by her daughter Doris N. Epstein Flax (Nathan) of Boulder, Colorado, formerly of Woodbury, NY and Sun City West, AZ, a former educator and multi-year school board member in NY and AZ. Also surviving are grandsons Marshall (Judith), Ronald (Ilene), and Sanford and four great-grandchildren Samantha, Braden, Marcus, and Rebecca. Graveside services were held on May 20, 2016 at New Montefiore Cemetery.
