Doris Hoffman, 84, passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan, New York. Doris was born in Philadelphia on July 30, 1935 to Ellis Lincoln Zacker and Sara Zacker. She graduated from Cornell University in 1956 with a Bachelor of Arts degree and received her Master’s Degree from Teachers College at Columbia University. She worked as a social studies teacher in the City of New York at William Howard Taft High School and Walton High School. She married Robert Hoffman on August 16, 1958 in Manhattan and moved to Riverdale, New York, where she lived for the last sixty-one years. Doris is survived by her devoted husband, Robert Hoffman; her loving sons and their wives, Alan and Marla Hoffman and Richard and Karen Hoffman; her six adoring grandchildren, Danielle, Nicole, Jodie, Craig, Kallie and Aimee. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed dearly by all of her family and friends.
