Edith Wasserberg, formerly of the Bronx, Yonkers & Central Valley NY passed away while surrounded by her family, on July 18, 2022 at the age of 97. Edith was born March 16, 1925 in the Bronx to the late Walter and Lena Malkin. Edith graduated Morris High School at age 15 and went to work in Manufacturers Hanover Bank as soon as she turned 16. That’s where she met Howard and married at 19 years old. The family store, which started in the Bronx, branched out to Manhattan, Queens & Westchester. Edith leaves behind quite a legacy: her loving children Carey (Marina), Mitchell (Carol), Rosalie (Tom) Cook, and her beloved grandchildren Martin (Ethel), Justin (Jennifer), Wayne (Manuela), Daniele (John), Joseph (Lauren), Jacqueline, Gisselle & Rafael. Her Sweetheart great-grandchildren: Dylan, Chase, Mason, Liam, Charlotte, Josh, Sophia, Andrew, Olivia & Lena. She is predeceased by her adored husband Howard. Edith will forever be remembered as the kindest, most loving, forgiving and gentle woman with a heart full of pure goodness. Everyone she encountered felt her warmth. Her legacy will be an inspiration to all who knew her. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday July 20, at 12 noon at Weinstein Memorial Chapel, 1652 Central Park Avenue Yonkers. 914-793-3800.
