Sandra Klausner 1928 - 2025

Sandra Dena Klausner (Sandy) passed away on Wednesday, February  19, 2025,  in Scottsdale, Arizona.   She is predeceased by Solomon, her husband of 46 years. She is survived by her children Lewis(Daniela) and  Renee(Peter) and her grandchildren Jeremy (Sharon) and Ginevra.

Sandy was born in Manhattan in 1928 but grew up and lived most of her life in Brooklyn, NY.  After high school Sandra attended Long Island University and went on to teach elementary school in the New York City school system. She would later go back to Brooklyn College to obtain a master’s degree in education and transitioned to the role of reading and literacy specialist.

In retirement, Sandy and Sol moved to Delray Beach, Florida where they led a full and active life. Sandy preferred to be busy and was involved in numerous activities including,  tennis (which she played competitively), swimming, Jewish organizations (including a leadership position in her local Haddasah chapter), and ball room dancing. Sol and Sandy had fun travelling and learning something new at elder hostel programs.

Sandy was also a lover of the arts, especially theater and concerts.  She particularly enjoyed the “Girl’s Trips” with her daughter and other relatives to theater festivals throughout the country.

In 2017, Sandy moved to Scottsdale, Arizona to be near her daughter.  She quickly made new friends with whom she would socialize and  play mahjong, bridge, and scrabble.

Sandy will be remembered for her strong personality, intellect and the vigor with which she lived her life.
