Alan Moskowitz 1946 - 2025

Alan Moskowitz was born in Brooklyn on May 10, 1946, to Leo Moskowitz and Sonya Schneider. He attended Abraham Lincoln High School and after graduating, enlisted in the United States Air Force, separating in 1969 with the rank of Sergeant. He worked at a variety of jobs, including the Post Office, and traveled overseas. His final position was running the mail room at D.H. King, where he worked for many years before retiring. He was extremely well-read and erudite. A friend of his called him the “Professor” and said he could answer any question put to him. His interests included archaeology and history. He liked science fiction, puzzles such as Sudoku, and baseball. He was a wonderful and kind person and much loved by family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Dorothy Moskowitz, and niece Cara Galloway. He is survived by his sister, Miriam Woods, nephew David Galloway, and nieces, Anne Velardi, Donna Somma-Seilor, Jackie Katz, and Diane Woods, and their children and grandchildren.
