David Perman, born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1940 to Mildred and Sidney Perman, died Sunday, August 20, 2023, after battling recent illness with complications from dementia. He died at home with family close by, listening to classical music, which brought him so much peace and comfort, particularly in his last months. He was a loving husband to Marcia for over 60 years, father to Michael and Brian, father-in-law to Mary Beth Carosello and Jerilyn Perman grandfather to Jacob, Sam, Luciano and Lily Perman, brother to Judy Miller of blessed memory, uncle to Arna Desser, Richard Desser & JoAnn Peroutka and Ian & Liz Miller, cousin, friend and colleague.
A brilliant engineer for decades for Lederle Laboratories, General Foods/Kraft and Raytheon Engineering, he loved mentoring young engineers and tutoring science and math. His hobbies and passions through the years included running, reading, movies, classical music, fixing everything, refereeing high school and college football games and eating dessert. Most of all, he took tremendous pride in his grandchildren and couldn’t wait to hear what Jacob, Sam, Luciano and Lily were doing and accomplishing. He was loved by many and we already miss him.

December 4, 2024 at 10:58 amDave Perman made an idelible impression on my life. He has proven to be the most caring manager and person for whom I have worked over my career. We shared only a short time together. I was a summer intern at General Foods in 1982. Dave took the time to get to know me. And he provided endless encouragement to help me discover my own abilities. Dave has been and always will be in my heart. I know he is off to a better life now. No doubt, still encouraging others to find success.
