Marilyn Norma (Antin) Jaffe of Bluffton, SC passed away on May 23, 2026 at the age of 83. Born in Brooklyn, NY on December 17, 1942 to the late Bessie (Weiner) and Abraham Antin, Marilyn always considered herself a New Yorker – despite having moved to South Carolina in 1961. A graduate of Lander College, Marilyn had two children with her former husband – Lee Roy Jaffe – and for several years was a partner and buyer for Ed’s Shoes in Greenwood, SC.
Marilyn later moved to Bluffton, SC with her long-term partner Joseph S. Farrugia, where the two enjoyed a relaxed, coastal life together for over 20 years. Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Bonnie H Jaffe of Santa Monica, CA. She was predeceased by her son Edward (Eddie) Gene Jaffe and her sister Arlene Antin Licata.
An independent spirit, Marilyn was a breast cancer survivor for over 15 years. She was also a professional-level deal hunter, loved animals, and enjoyed splitting her time between her life in the low country on one coast and her daughter on the other coast. While she was inherently a very private person, those lucky enough to know her well enjoyed her warm smile and sharp wit. A fighter til her last breath, she will be forever loved and missed.
