Melvin Flax, a resident of Eastchester, NY and Lake Worth, FL sadly passed away on November 9, 2020 at the age of 90. Mel was born February 27, 1930 in NYC to the late Nathan and Esther Flax. Mel proudly served his country in the Army during the Korean Conflict. After his military service, he obtained his master’s degree and became a teacher with the NYC Board of Education. Melvin was a proud member and past President of the Eastchester/Tuckahoe Lions Club and an avid Yankees fan. Melvin is survived by his cherished children Harley (Jay) Gerlitz and Nancy (John) Armentano, his cherished grandchildren Jesse (Amy), Melissa, Tyler, Ryan, Alex, Greyson and his 3 adoring great grandchildren. Mel is predeceased by his beloved wife Connie and son Randy. A graveside funeral service will be held on Sunday November 15 at 10:00 am at Sharon Gardens Cemetery in Valhalla, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mel’s memory may be made to the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
