Raymond Weinstein passed away at home on August 4, 2024 at the age of 82. Born in the Bronx, Ray grew up in Marion, Indiana where his father Louis Weinstein and mother, Adele Moskowitz Weinstein resided while his father was a psychiatrist with the Veterans’ Administration Hospital. During his high school years, he moved with parents to Westchester, NY and graduated from Hendrick Hudson High School in Montrose, NY. He graduated from Syracuse University and Rutgers Law School. Ray worked for the US Army at Picatinny Arsenal and then for the Legal Aid Society in Brooklyn before opening his private law practice specializing in copyright law and licensing. He was a long-time resident of Brooklyn. He had two rescue dogs to which he was devoted for many years. In his later years he was a frequent visitor to the Brooklyn Public Library and spent long happy hours in the Windsor Terrace branch. Ray loved family and is survived by his brother, Stanley, sister-in-law Eileen, nieces and nephews: Arielle, Damon, Katherine, and Daniel. He enjoyed family reunions with all the Moskowitz cousins. His kindness and generosity will be sorely missed. May his memory be a blessing and may his soul enjoy life eternal with his parents Adele and Louis.

August 12, 2024 at 7:31 pmKind, gentle uncle Ray,
I will miss your generosity, your thoughtfulness and your sensitive communion with people who need a little light. I will think of you on holidays. Your memory lives on in our household through “lamby” and his 2-score descendants, who sit in tribute to you on Sarah’s bedspread a quarter century after you introduced the famous lamby. RIP uncle R. We will miss you. Xo with love from Arielle, Gerry, Sarah & Michael
