Rita Tenenbaum 1925 - 2025

Rita Tenenbaum (née Richmond), age 100, passed away peacefully in White Plains, NY on Friday, September 19th, 2025. She was born February 4th, 1925 in the Bronx, NY to parents Nathan and Anna Richmond. Rita attended George Washington High School in New York City followed by New York University, where she graduated with a degree in retail in 1945. She enjoyed flower arranging; a craft she perfected while working at Lord & Taylor. She traveled extensively; proud to only have missed the country Mongolia. Rita was dedicated to the Women’s American Organisation for Rehabilitation through Training (now World ORT), where she served as President of the Saw Mill Chapter from 1965 to 1967.
Rita was a devoted member of Congregation Shaarei Shalom. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles, and sons, Bruce (Judy), Thomas (Brenda) and Martin (Karen). She is survived by her daughter Beth (Lloyd); grandchildren Andrew (Jennifer), Douglas (Ellen), Gerald, Alexander, Charlie, Samuel (Kathryn) and Alexandra; great-grandchildren Logan, Ethan, Jordan, Jacob, Scarlett, Dylan and Daisy.
