Ezra was my colleague and friend in the Professional Staff Congress/CUNY for over 35 years. He was an effective leader for the College Laboratory Technicians, and a strong advocate for a higher education unionism that enrolled all faculty and staff in one organization that could then best represent their interests. He had supported unionism in the City University of New York since the 1960s, He loved a good discussion, especially on historical subjects, and we had many over the years. I will miss him, and I send my condolences to his family.

Ezra Seltzer was a colleague and good friend for many years. We worked with him in the Professional Staff Congress/CUNY. We knew him as an especially strong supporter of unions for higher education faculty and staff, particularly College Laboratory Technicians. It was always interesting to talk with Ezra about history. We extend our sympathies and condolences to Ezra's family on their loss. It is a loss shared by us as well.

I met Ezra only for a little short while, not more than 6 years and I could tell he was someone special. If I’d only knew what a giant he was to the Professional Staff Congress/CUNY and for the College Laboratory Technicians, I’d ask him to give me a download of this brain memories. Recognizing the force he was is what legends and giants are made of. Higher education unionism is still at a profound loss. Ezra was right on this one and his legacy will live well into the beyond with the children of this world. I miss him greatly and my sympathies and condolences to Ezra’s family. May his soul rest in peace in eternal home.
