Obituary of Morton Pincks

Morton (Morty) Pincks, a lifelong resident of Yonkers, passed away on February 21, 2016 at the age of 86. Morty was born March 7, 1929 in Yonkers to the late Stanley and Dorothy (Sternbach) Pincks. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Alfred University and upon graduation went to work for Olivetti Underwood. In his retirement, he worked in Sternbach Furs, the family business. He was also deeply involved in Temple Emanu-El in Yonkers and in Scarsdale Synagogue Temples Tremont and Emanu-El. He also volunteered for many years at JCY Westchester Community Partners where he was loved and valued by all. Morton was an avid reader and enjoyed both history and current events. He derived great pleasure from music and regularly attended concerts at the Philharmonic. He is survived by loving cousins. A graveside service will be held on Sunday at 11am at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Hastings-on-Hudson, NY. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Weinstein Memorial Chapel, 1652 Central Park Avenue, Yonkers. 914-793-3800.

    My Cousin Morton was a wonderful and kind individual. We spent every holiday together in my home. He loved his family. I can only hope that my memories will help me to deal with my sadness.
